Faith, Family & Community: Upcoming Events in the CCBN Family of Parishes
There are many opportunities to grow in faith, celebrate our Catholic traditions, and come together as a community throughout the CCBN Family of Parishes. From welcoming those exploring the Catholic faith to honoring our saints and veterans, we invite you to join us for these upcoming celebrations and events!
OCIA: A Journey of Faith
On Sunday, October 25, at the 10:00 a.m. Mass, we will celebrate the Rite of Welcoming for our OCIA candidates, followed by a light reception. Please keep our candidates in your prayers as they study, pray, and open their hearts to a deeper relationship with Jesus.
Are you interested in becoming Catholic or receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation as an adult? We welcome you! For more information, please contact the Faith Formation Office at 716-875-8102.
Confirmation Preparation: Important Dates
Confirmation families are invited to attend a Sponsor/Candidate Family Meeting on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Assumption Church. Please use the Peter Street parking lot.
If you have not yet selected a sponsor, you may attend the meeting with another confirmed adult. Information about sacramental requirements and preparation materials will be distributed at this meeting.
Families will then gather for the Confirmation Enrollment Mass on Sunday, November 8, at 10:00 a.m. at Assumption Church.
A Pumpkin Carving Prayer: Let Your Light Shine!
As Halloween approaches, carving a pumpkin can become more than a fun seasonal activity — it can also be an opportunity to share a little faith with your family! As you carve your pumpkin, reflect on these simple prayers:
- As you cut off the top: “Open my mind so I can learn new things about You.”
- As you scoop out the inside: “Take away all my sin and forgive the wrong things I do.”
- As you carve the eyes: “Open my eyes to see the beauty You’ve made in the world around me.”
- As you carve the nose: “I’m sorry for the times I’ve turned up my nose at what You’ve given me.”
- As you carve a smiling mouth: “Help me to always share Your love with others.”
- As you place a candle inside and light it: “You’ve given me Your light. Please help me shine for You every day.”
May this simple tradition remind us that God’s light shines through us whenever we share His love, kindness, and goodness with others!
When the Saints Go Marching In!
Celebrate the saints with us on Sunday, November 1, as we observe All Saints Day! Children are invited to participate in the Litany of Saints, a wonderful opportunity to learn about the holy men and women who inspire us through their faith and example.
To learn more or to have your child participate, please contact the Faith Formation Office at 716-875-8102, extension 102.
God Bless America! Honoring Our Veterans
On Sunday, November 8, during our Sunday Masses, the CCBN Family of Parishes will honor the brave men and women who have served our country in every branch of the military in recognition of Veterans Day.
We invite you to extend a special invitation to your favorite veteran to join us for this meaningful celebration. Let us come together in gratitude to recognize their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting our freedoms.
May we continue to grow together in faith, celebrate the blessings of our Catholic community, and share Christ’s love with all those around us!
